Parking

Nessel Way is a privately owned street. Please avoid parking on this street as vehicles that are parked there are subject to be towed.

A parking registration form can be completed for access to the 375 Longwood Garage. The registration form is accessible on the LMACCC website at www.lmaccc.org. Access cards allow up to 45 minutes of parking twice a day. There is a limit of two access cards per family. Only one access card at a time may be used. Please plan on 30 minutes to allow for time to enter and exit the garage. Families wishing to stay longer than 45 minutes should pull a ticket from the ticket dispenser and self-pay upon exit of the garage.

The drop off loop is for 15 minute parking. Please use caution when entering and exiting the loop as there is often a great deal of foot traffic in this space.

Inclement Weather

The Center is usually open on stormy days. We ask parents to allow time for safe commuting to work. Children might be grouped together for breakfast and early morning play while staff arrive.

  • Call 617-632-2827, press # 4 for Center Update. The message is updated throughout the day.
  • Refer to Channel 7 website for any amendments to LMACCC’s operating schedule.
  • Call 632-2310, MASCO’s main number.

Pick Up Permission

Please communicate to the classroom as well as with the office if anyone other than the child’s legal parent or guardian is going to be picking up. Adults picking up children should have a state issued ID on hand (license or passport).

Evening Pick Ups

We recommend that families arrive to the program in the evening by 5:45 pm to allow for time to communicate with teaching staff about their child’s day and gather their belongings. The teaching staff end their day and the program closes promptly at 6:00 pm.

Door Access

Each parent/guardian has been given his/her own access PIN for entrance into the building. Please help us to maintain our security and do not share your access code with children, other adults or visitors. Visitors and individuals other than parents/guardians that are picking up children should be instructed to ring the doorbell for assistance and be prepared to present a state issued ID (license or passport) for identification.

Attendance

Please remember to notify your classroom teacher and the office when your child is going to be out or arrive later than usual. Part way through the morning classrooms attend movement or go to the playground.

Stroller/Scooter/Car Seat Guidelines

Small strollers can be folded and placed under the stairs as far to the back as possible.  Please leave a walk space in the middle of this area so that families can retrieve strollers.  Do not place strollers in front of the steps or on the heater. Strollers can also be folded and stored in the stairwell at the top of the Drop off Loop. Car seats and strollers should be separated and collapsed.

Lunch Boxes/Bags

Empty lunch containers are stored in children’s cubbies. Children are often very curious about the items stored in cubbies and their exploration in combination with the potential residue from lunches may enhance allergen exposure. To limit the risk of allergens for all children we ask that all families provide their child with a lunch box. Following lunch each day, teachers will support children in returning their empty containers into the lunch box. Please avoid plastic shopping bags as these present a choking risk to young children.

Special Snacks

If you wish to bring in a special snack from outside the program please provide your child’s classroom a list of the ingredients at least two days in advance. Snack ingredients can also be emailed to LMACCC’s Program Coordinators.

Clothes

Please check your child’s bin for 2 sets of spare fall clothes. Your child needs long pants, long sleeve tops, socks, underwear and a pair of shoes. It is always advisable to leave a spare jacket or sweatshirt as well as a warm hat in your child’s cubby. If your child wears diapers please make sure that there is an ample quantity in his/her cubby. Classroom teachers will store a smaller supply of diapers in the classrooms.  If you have borrowed clothing labeled “LMACCC” please return it to the program. We have a limited supply of extra clothing available.
